Soma Training

What is Soma Training?

Soma Training is a 3-year educational and training program for exercise professionals. The program consists of 15 courses total, over a 3-year period. Typically, 5-6 courses are run each year.  Each year is designed to build upon the previous year, increasing the level of anatomy, biomechanics and physiology. The Soma Training is very unique and specific. The Segmental Strengthening courses, Myofascial Stretching and the ELDOA exercises alone, offer the practitioner many options when it comes to adapting to a clients’ needs. There is even a 3-day course on the squat! Soma Training was developed by Guy Voyer, creator of the ELDOA Method. ELDOA is a revolutionary exercise method for recovery and back pain.

Who is qualified to enroll in the Soma Training program?

Anyone in the field of sports, health and wellness that is looking for a well rounded education and highly effective, specific exercise tools. Physical Therapists, Personal Trainers, Chiropractors, Pilates and Yoga instructors, etc. When applied correctly, the possibilities with the Soma Training tools seem endless.

3-year curriculum:

Year 1

  • Segmental Strengthening of Abs and Thoracic Diaphragm
  • Segmental Strengthening of the Lower Limb
  • Segmental Strengthening of the Upper Limb and Trunk
  • The Squat and The Gravity Line
  • Circulatory and Respiratory Techniques

Year 2

  • General ELDOA
  • Myofascial Stretching
  • Specific Proprioception and Awareness
  • Specific ELDOA
  • Cardio Training/Health and Fitness Conditioning

Year 3

  • Cinesiology and Periodization
  • Global Postural Stretching
  • Biomechanics and Techno-Methodology/Reinforcement of TVA
  • Strapping for orthopedic and sports trauma
  • Study and practice of the sauna, clinical applications and tests

Who is Guy Voyer?

Guy Voyer is an Osteopath from Paris, France. He developed the ELDOA Method, Soma Training and Soma Therapy. Guy has worked extensively dissecting, researching and studying the fascial (connective tissue) system. Along with his Osteopathic way of thinking, studying the details of the fascia has lead him to develop the Soma Training and Soma Therapy techniques. These exercises and manual therapy techniques are unbelievably valuable and effective. Guy Voyer also has  PhD in Educational Science. As a teacher, Guy wants his students to depend on their own ability to think and adapt to each person that they are helping to heal.

About Legacy Sport & Wellness – Dallas, TX

Legacy Sport & Wellness is located in Dallas, TX. At their facility, they host the ELDOA courses, along with the Soma Therapy and Soma Training programs. Scott Herrera and Claudia Zelazny are the owners/operators. Legacy is the official director of the ELDOA Program. Scott Herrera is the author of the books for ELDOA Levels 1-3. Cleo Bates is a Soma Trainer and Soma Therapist that works with Legacy as their in house massage therapist.

About Natural Movement Solutions/Nola ELDOA

We provide educational courses in the great city of New Orleans, Louisiana. The courses that we host and teach are ELDOA Levels 1-4. We will also host one Soma Training course each year. The Soma Training course is always taught by Scott Herrera from Legacy Sport and Wellness Center. Myofascial Stretching will be held in New Orleans in March 2022.
